Privacy
This page explains what coverage.chat does with information when you use this site. We keep it short because there is not much to describe: we do not run accounts, we do not run ads, and we do not ask for your name, phone number, or email address.
No accounts, no lead forms
There is no sign-up, no newsletter, and no contact form. We do not sell, trade, or supply personal information to anyone. We are not an insurer and we do not hold personal information about policyholders, because we do not underwrite or administer any policy.
The conversation on this site
When you use the assistant, your messages are sent to the conversation service that powers it so it can reply, and the conversation is stored against a session identifier so the thread survives a page reload. The conversation is not used to build a profile of you, is not used for advertising, and is not sold or shared for marketing. The service keeps a server log for reliability and abuse prevention, which may include the page address and the request time.
A session identifier is held in your browser’s session storage so the assistant knows which thread you are in. It is cleared when you close the browser session, and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
The conversation assistant provides general information only. It is not an insurer, broker, or financial adviser, and it does not give personal advice, quotes, or recommendations to buy a particular policy. It does not ask for payment or bank details, and it has no ability to take out a policy on your behalf.
Referral links
Some pages contain a referral link to a third-party insurance comparison platform. If you follow that link, that platform is governed by its own privacy policy, and we have no control over what it collects. We do not receive your name or contact details from it. We may receive a commission if you take out a policy through the link, at no extra cost to you.
Referral links carry a page reference in the link itself so we can tell which pages are useful. That reference does not identify you personally.
Analytics and advertising cookies
coverage.chat does not run advertising networks and does not set advertising cookies. Any aggregate traffic measurement we rely on is limited to understanding whether the site is working — for example, which pages return an error — and is not used to build a profile of you or to show advertising.
Where data is processed
This site and the services that support it are hosted on infrastructure operated by providers located in Australia and overseas. By using the site you understand your information may be processed outside Australia. We rely on those providers to protect the data we give them.
Your choices and questions
Because we do not hold an account for you, there is generally nothing for us to delete on request. If you have a question about this page, or a correction to make, write to contact@coverage.chat.
